Welcome Back to a New School Year!

August 12th, 2008

I am beginning to organize my classroom. I don’t know why, but I never feel ready to start the school year until I have a bucket full of freshly-sharpened pencils at the ready. That will be accomplished tomorrow. As we all prepare ourselves for a new beginning, let me remind parents and students of a few things.

This blog is intended for information updates, such as class activities, at-home assignments, and Chorus announcements. The information that will remain the same throughout the year, such as rules and links, is located on the Gateway Music main site, which you can find by clicking here.

I will publish again in a few days with the first few weeks’ activities. Until then, everyone enjoy your last days of summer!

The Dreams Begin…

July 19th, 2008

Hello, friends! Every year around this time, I begin to have THE DREAMS. They are all the same, set on the first day of school, usually in a different city, with a new school. I am very hopeful and gung-ho, but have nothing prepared. I usually wake up with a start around the time the first pencil flies at my head. Strangely, the students in the dreams are always high school-aged.

I know my precious Gateway children would never behave that way, though!
